Open Doors!
“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” (Jeremiah 32:17, NIV)
Last month, we requested prayers for God to open doors so that we could resume training after three months of closure. How faithfully He has answered! As COVID restrictions began to ease, training has resumed one by one since mid-June. PTL that in total, six training sessions have already been completed in just half a month, far exceeding our expectations.
This was due in large part to the constant urging of our partnering sites to restart training. In today’s ever-changing environment, it is the Christian faith that brings peace and comfort to people feeling unsettled. Churches must train God-fearing teachers to help believers grow internally and spread the gospel externally. SALT training fulfills this double need.
On top of that, we are getting invitations from new sites. Joseph, our training director in East Asia, recently visited a new location to explore the possibilities of training with the local church. We ask God to develop our preliminary discussions according to His will.
While the immediate situation appears to have improved slightly, the overall outlook remains uncertain. As Joseph understandably frets, “Because the pandemic is not fully stable, there’s always a chance of another outbreak in the future. During the next six months, control measures can be tightened at any time. So we can only go with the flow and do our best.”
Join us in praying for God’s guidance and protection over SALT and every teacher working hard on the front lines. Pray for His favor and blessing upon our trainers and their families so they may focus on serving Him without worry. May God continue to open doors for SALT with His outstretched arm – nothing is too hard for Him!
