God’s Preparation Exceeds All We Could Ask or Imagine
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
(2 Timothy 2:2, NIV)
This verse has long been the guiding mission of SALT, and it continues to resonate with fellow workers in Christ. Several months ago, a mission organization sharing this same vision expressed interest in adopting some of our courses as part of their elective offerings. Remarkably, they also requested to translate these courses into multiple Arabic languages. After prayerful discussion, the collaboration was confirmed. For us, this was an unexpected joy—one of the most precious gifts the Lord has bestowed upon us.
This year marks SALT’s 30th anniversary, which is also its honorable final year. Looking back to the 1990s, three missionaries in their prime founded SALT with the calling to teach “reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” Despite facing repeated challenges, they pressed forward in the mission fields of East Asia. Over the decades, they nurtured thousands of church leaders with biblical truth and established a curriculum department that has produced more than thirty courses.
These courses have been the cornerstone of SALT’s journey and a testimony to the glory of God. As SALT approaches the completion of its historical mission, we have wrestled with how best to steward the fruit of thirty years of labor. Yet the Lord has prepared the way. He led an organization to partner with us, accomplishing something “immeasurably more than what we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20, NIV)
Our focus has always been on East Asia, which created a blind spot. We thought it was already a great achievement to see thirty courses circulated locally. But the Lord’s ways are higher than ours, and His thoughts surpass our own. Translating our courses into multiple Arabic languages not only exceeds our ability but also goes far beyond our imagination. At this point, we can only give all glory and praise to our heavenly Father.
May the Lord bless these courses, so that wherever they are used, they may strengthen local churches, edify believers, and reach those who have yet to believe.
With Heartfelt Thanks,
The SALT Team
