Progress Amid Challenges
The first half of this year was marked by formidable circumstances across East Asia. Weather conditions remain unfavorable, forcing a number of temporary suspensions and even indefinite closures at certain sites. Yet, despite these obstacles, the East Asia Team— which became independent in January 2026— has continued to press forward and achieve remarkable results.

Since 2018, the Team has set a bold annual target of 40 trainings (each lasting two to four days). Even during the pandemic, this standard was never lowered. Thanks to the dedication of our teachers, the Team’s achievements have consistently stayed close to this goal. By June 30^th of this year, 20 trainings have already been completed— exactly half the yearly target.

The Spirit of “Transference”
Behind the numbers lies something even more inspiring: the spirit of transference. For over 30 years, this principle has been at the heart of our ministry. Recently, more and more locations have embraced this vision, determined to share what they have learned with fellow believers and leaders.

Joseph, head of the East Asia Team, found that many local churches have established their own teams after completing our Certificate Program— some teaching within their own congregations, others even traveling to neighboring areas to further spread the training.

Expanding Training Opportunities
To strengthen training quality, two locations requested diploma-level programs after completing our Certificate Program last year. Despite limited resources, the growing demand inspired the Team to step out in faith and agree to start two new diploma programs this year.

Meanwhile, despite the adverse weather that forced indefinite pauses at certain sites, the Team successfully launched Certificate Programs at three new locations. This ensures their goal of maintaining at least ten active training sites remains on track.

Joseph sums up their challenge, “The harsher the weather, the harder we must work— because we do not know whether the door will close again.”
